I was greatly saddened yesterady to learn that the lead singer of one of my favorite punk bands has died. He died in a Glendale, California hospital yesterday,at age 60, from a pre-existing heart condition.

The Cramps were formed in 1973, and though they never had huge commericial success, they were a huge influence on many groups, such as The White Stripes and Pearl Jam, who have both claimed The Cramps as inspirations.

On a personal note, I have just recently been listening to the Cramp’s A Date With Elvis, released in 1986. Their last album was in 2004, How to Make a Monster, but they have continued to attract a strong fan base.
