Eleven years ago today, I married a much younger, Japanese-American man. When I met him 15 years ago, I was divorced and had a pre-teen daughter and a teenage son (who lived with his dad.) Takesi, known to all as Ken, had never been married. Everyone said it wouldn’t work. After 4 years together, we thought they might be wrong, so we got married. Eleven years later, it seems to still be working extremely well:)
Age doesn’t matter in a marriage; maturity does. Love and respect and having fun together matter. We are really good at those things. I’m so glad we went against tradition and advice. I would not have missed this for anything!
