Doctor Hans Holzer, widely regarded as “the Father of the Paranormal,’ is dead at 89. He died at home in Manhattan on Sunday.
For over 50 years, Dr. Holzer traveled the world, collecting stories and investigating ghosts and haunted places. He developed many of the protocols still used in paranormal investigation, and coined such terms as “sensitive” and “beings of light.” He had hundreds of television appearances on such early paranormal shows as “In Search Of” and many others, and authored over 145 books. It would be hard to think of anyone more influential or more respected in the paranormal field.
In recent years, Dr. Holzer’s health had begun to fail and he was unable to travel.
Dr. Holzer will be sorely missed. His daughter, Alexandra, is carrying on his work.
